LTEF brings together ideas, people and resources to support innovative educational programs that fall outside the regular school curriculum and enrich youth of the Lackawanna Trail School District. We believe our collective community, including Lackawanna Trail alumni, is a very valuable resource for our youth.

Examples of ways we can help:

  • Introductions to potential donors (including those willing to offer in-kind goods/services), especially among our Alumni Association
  • Grant research and application support
  • Free pass-through of tax-deductible donations to your program through LTEF as a 501(c)3 non-profit.
  • Planning and establishing an endowment supporting the Foundation and/or a specific program

Have a great idea for an innovative educational program or project for Lackawanna Trail students?

We encourage you to:

The LTEF Program Committee will contact you to review your application and learn more about your idea/proposal, and will reach out to the LTSD to discuss possible collaboration. If your application meets all the LTEF funding requirements, it will be presented to the full LTEF Board for consideration.

PROGRAM GUIDELINES

  1. Activities Outside of Traditional School Curriculum & Activities (Required) – If you have a program that even a few students would value and which is not currently offered by a local school, it meets our first and most important criteria for support.
  • Community Interest & Support Established – LTEF helps further develop programs that already have volunteers, youth, and some startup funding identified. Having committed adult leaders, coaches, mentors and/or volunteers willing to lead the program from start to finish is critical. If you have at least a few adults and students already committed to a program, we can help with additional support, networking, and resources.
  • Impact on Student SuccessLTEF supports programs that can make a profound impact on student academics, health/wellness, leadership, civics, entrepreneurship and/or career readiness. Programs do not have to involve many students but should be more than a mere hobby or fun activity. If you have a program that can help students achieve their full potential as happy, productive, and ethical leaders in their chosen career, we want to help.
  • Clear Goals and Identified Needs – It is important for us to understand the goals, required funding, and any other resources needed for sustaining your program. Remember, LTEF and our LTEF Alumni Association represent an extensive network of experience and resources. The more clearly you can define the specific resources you need, the better connections and support we will be able to offer your program. Be sure to include a detailed budget of planned expenses and estimated funding needed when completing the LTEF Application for Support.
