The Lackawanna Trail Education Foundation  (LTEF) operates separately and  independently from the Lackawanna Trail School District, and strives to work in close affiliation with schools, administrators, alumni, and other community partners to enhance the educational environment and help expand student learning experiences and opportunities.

LTEF gathers community and alumni resources to enhance the educational environment and programs within the Lackawanna Trail School District.  Our emphasis is on sponsoring innovative programs or projects which are not currently part of the regular academic curriculum.

The Lackawanna Trail Education Foundation operates as a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation and public charity recognized by the IRS. LTEF is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors , independent of and separate from the Lackawanna Trail School District. LTEF prioritizes and support programs with the greatest potential impact on student development and success. The Foundation is committed to supporting innovative programs with the greatest potential impact on student development and success. The Foundation is committed to supporting innovative programs with the potential for making significant life-changing impact on community youth regardless of their gender, background, academic/vocational interests, or life goals. Special consideration will be given to programs with significant alumni, community, and third-party support – e.g. matching contributions, grants, Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program, bequests, etc.
